Embracing Openness and Dialogue

During the discussion, Al Kaabi highlighted the UAE’s unwavering commitment to openness and dialogue. She explained that the nation’s progress is built on its ability to embrace different cultures, beliefs, and perspectives. According to her, fostering an environment where people from diverse backgrounds can interact peacefully is essential for achieving long-term stability and prosperity.

She said, “Embracing diversity and dialogue lays the foundation for a peaceful and prosperous world and society.” This belief is central to the UAE’s foreign policy and domestic initiatives, ensuring that the country remains a place where people of all faiths and nationalities can coexist harmoniously.

Landmark Initiatives: The Abrahamic Family House

Al Kaabi pointed to the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi as a symbol of the UAE’s vision. This unique project brings together a church, mosque, and synagogue in one location. It stands as a powerful representation of interfaith dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence.

Through projects like this, the UAE demonstrates that religion and culture can play a role in uniting people rather than dividing them. The Abrahamic Family House is more than just a building; it is a symbol of hope and understanding, showing that communities can live together with respect, cooperation, and harmony.

The Role of Culture in Building Peace

Al Kaabi also stressed the importance of culture as a bridge between communities. She shared the example of UNESCO’s “Revive the Spirit of Mosul” project, to which the UAE contributed US$50.4 million. This initiative aims to restore cultural heritage in Mosul, Iraq, after years of conflict.

Al Kaabi explained that preserving and sharing cultural heritage can create opportunities for dialogue and mutual understanding. By working together to protect art, history, and cultural landmarks, countries can strengthen peace and build long-lasting relationships between communities.

Fighting Intolerance and Hate

The Minister also addressed the global challenge of intolerance. She highlighted the importance of uniting countries to fight hate speech, racism, and discrimination. She referenced the UAE’s role in co-authoring UN Security Council Resolution 2686, which promotes cooperation to combat intolerance and prevent conflicts.

Al Kaabi stressed that global problems require global solutions. Nations must work together to address social divisions and promote tolerance, understanding, and empathy. This approach not only reduces the risk of conflict but also builds stronger, more resilient communities.

Promoting Dialogue and Inclusion

Al Kaabi further emphasized that dialogue and inclusion are critical both locally and internationally. She explained that the UAE actively creates platforms for discussion, cultural exchange, and collaboration. These platforms include global events, conferences, and people-to-people initiatives that bring together different perspectives.

She said, “Through global events and collaborative platforms, the UAE will continue to champion inclusiveness, cultural exchange, and genuine people-to-people connections as foundations for peace, stability, and prosperity.” This statement reflects the UAE’s belief that understanding and collaboration are the keys to solving complex international challenges.

Monocle’s Quality of Life Conference

Monocle’s Quality of Life Conference is a premier global forum that gathers visionaries, thought leaders, and innovators every year. The event focuses on creating cities and societies that are inclusive, resilient, and full of opportunities for everyone.

By participating in this conference, Al Kaabi shared the UAE’s vision of a world where diversity, dialogue, and culture form the foundation for progress. Her discussion highlighted the importance of creating spaces where people can interact, learn from one another, and work together to build a better future.

The UAE’s Vision for a Peaceful Future

Through her participation at the conference, Al Kaabi reinforced the UAE’s commitment to openness, coexistence, and dialogue. She showcased how initiatives like the Abrahamic Family House and contributions to global cultural projects exemplify the country’s belief in peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.

Her remarks serve as a reminder that countries can make a difference by promoting understanding and cooperation. By valuing diversity, protecting cultural heritage, and creating spaces for dialogue, nations can work together to overcome global challenges and build a world that is safer, more inclusive, and prosperous for everyone.

Noura Al Kaabi’s discussion at the Monocle Quality of Life Conference highlighted the UAE’s role as a champion of peace, dialogue, and cultural exchange. By emphasizing the importance of openness, coexistence, and collaboration, she presented a vision of a world where nations and communities come together to address challenges, celebrate diversity, and ensure a brighter, more harmonious future for all.
