UAE Strongly Condemns Recent Attack in Karachi

The UAE has issued a strong condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Karachi, Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths of two Chinese citizens and a Pakistani national. This tragic incident has drawn widespread attention and concern, highlighting the ongoing threats of violence and terrorism in the region.

In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the UAE reiterated its unwavering rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to undermine security and stability, emphasizing that such actions violate international law. The Ministry extended its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the governments and people of Pakistan and China, as well as to the families of the victims. Additionally, it expressed wishes for a swift recovery for those injured in the attack.

The bomb attack occurred on Sunday, targeting a convoy belonging to a Chinese company near Karachi's international airport. The explosion resulted not only in the fatalities of the two Chinese nationals and a Pakistani but also left several others injured.

Separatist insurgent group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it was executed using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device aimed specifically at Chinese nationals, including engineers. The BLA is known for its goal of seeking independence for the province of Balochistan, which lies in Pakistan’s southwest and shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran. In a recent surge of violence, the BLA launched coordinated attacks in the region in August, leading to the deaths of over 70 individuals.

The UAE’s strong condemnation of this attack underscores its commitment to combating terrorism and supporting international efforts to enhance safety and security in affected regions.
