Moroni: The Emirates Red Crescent’s (ERC) Nahr Al Hayat Fund has organised a four-day medical camp in the Union of the Comoros, aiming to provide healthcare services to children suffering from serious illnesses. The camp was held in a village near the capital, Moroni, and offered comprehensive medical examinations, treatment, and necessary medications to dozens of children, ensuring they received timely and proper care.
The UAE Embassy in Moroni played a key role in facilitating the camp, supporting the Fund’s efforts to reach children in need. The Nahr Al Hayat Fund’s management praised the Embassy for its cooperation, which contributed significantly to the success of this humanitarian initiative.
Since its launch two years ago, the Fund has treated nearly 2,500 children across seven countries, including Jordan, Tanzania, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Morocco, and the Union of the Comoros. The Fund continues to expand its programs to reach more children who lack access to proper healthcare.
To further improve services, the Fund has introduced a new strategy that covers transferring children abroad for treatment when local medical facilities are insufficient. At the same time, children are provided treatment locally if the necessary care is available within the country.
The Fund has also established partnerships with specialised hospitals and medical teams, combining volunteer efforts and expert care to deliver effective treatment. Through these initiatives, the Nahr Al Hayat Fund aims to create a better future for children worldwide, ensuring that illness and lack of medical facilities do not prevent them from receiving essential care.
The four-day camp in Comoros highlights the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian work and its ongoing efforts to support vulnerable communities, particularly children, through accessible and high-quality healthcare services.
