His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of the UAE Falcons Federation, has issued directives forming the Supreme Organising Committee of the Emirates Falcons International Cup, marking a historic step in global falconry sports. The committee will be chaired by His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan, overseeing all operational and strategic aspects of the championship, ensuring its success and international prominence.
The inaugural edition of the Emirates Falcons International Cup will be hosted by Kuwait from 4 to 7 December 2025, featuring seven thrilling races in the Farkh category, including competitions for Hur and Shaheen falcons. The championship will culminate in the final Cup Race, where the top five falcons from each category—Pure Jeer, Jeer Shaheen, Qarmoosha, and Jeer Taba—will compete for total prizes worth AED500,000, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to promoting excellence in falconry.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed praised Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, appointed Chairman of the Emirates Falcons International Cup, for his leadership in delivering a landmark championship. The UAE leadership’s support highlights the nation’s pioneering role in global heritage sports, demonstrating a dedication to preserving falconry’s rich cultural legacy while sharing it with the world through the Emirates Falcons International Cup.
The Supreme Organising Committee will oversee specialised subcommittees including the Referees Committee, Appeals Committee, Technical Committee, and Registration, Protocol, and Logistics Committee. These teams will work together to ensure every aspect of the Emirates Falcons International Cup meets the highest standards of organisation, sportsmanship, and operational excellence.
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad noted that the Emirates Falcons International Cup marks the first time a UAE-named falconry championship will be held abroad, showcasing the country’s global leadership in the sport. The competition will elevate falcon racing on an international scale, promote sustainability, and ensure the legacy of falconry is preserved for future generations.
His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan emphasized the committee’s dedication to excellence, fair play, and upholding the UAE’s reputation globally. The Emirates Falcons International Cup is designed to strengthen international collaboration among falconry enthusiasts, celebrating the UAE’s heritage and positioning the nation as a global hub for falcon sports.
The championship aims to not only entertain and inspire but also educate and unite falconry communities worldwide. By championing heritage, innovation, and cultural pride, the Emirates Falcons International Cup represents a milestone in promoting the UAE’s vision of a globally recognised sporting and cultural legacy.
