UAE takes part in BRICS talks on AI and justice cooperation

The UAE Public Prosecution took part in the 7th Meeting of Heads of Prosecution Services of BRICS Countries, organized under the chairmanship of Brazil’s Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office. The meeting was held virtually and focused on the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Justice: Strategies for Legal Security, Ethics, and International Cooperation.”

The online conference gathered leaders and senior representatives from the prosecution services of BRICS member states, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, along with invited participants. Discussions revolved around the growing role of artificial intelligence in judicial systems, its ethical use, and the importance of strengthening legal frameworks to ensure transparency and justice.

During its speech, the UAE delegation highlighted the country’s commitment to embracing advanced technologies in public prosecution. It stressed that AI applications, when used responsibly, can help improve efficiency, safeguard rights, and enhance the fairness of judicial processes.

The UAE also reiterated its readiness to collaborate on joint initiatives with international partners, pointing out that modern challenges in crime prevention and justice require stronger global cooperation. The delegation emphasized that protecting human rights, upholding the rule of law, and supporting judicial innovation remain top priorities for the nation.

Officials at the meeting exchanged experiences on how AI tools are being introduced into their justice systems. They also addressed the need for strict ethical guidelines to prevent misuse and underlined the value of international partnerships in sharing expertise and knowledge.

By taking part in this BRICS platform, the UAE showcased its vision of building bridges with regional and international organizations, while at the same time reinforcing its role as a country that seeks balanced justice, technological advancement, and stronger cooperation in the field of law enforcement.
