The UAE and Iran convened the tenth session of their Joint Consular Committee in Abu Dhabi, marking another milestone in their efforts to enhance cooperation in consular affairs and better serve their citizens. Chaired by Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Consular Affairs, from the UAE side, and Alireza Bikdeli, Acting Deputy Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian Expatriates Affairs, from Iran, the meeting aimed to address various consular issues and chart a path for future collaboration.
During the session, both parties engaged in constructive discussions covering a wide range of common consular matters. They explored avenues to further develop their consular services and strengthen cooperation in this crucial area. The meeting provided a platform for exchanging views, sharing best practices, and identifying areas of mutual interest to enhance consular relations between the two nations.

Belhoul reaffirmed the UAE's readiness to deepen cooperation with Iran across multiple domains, including the economy, trade, and consular affairs. He emphasized the importance of fostering strong bilateral ties to promote regional security, stability, and prosperity. Belhoul underscored the UAE's commitment to constructive engagement and collaboration with neighboring countries, underscoring the significance of building bridges for peace and development in the region.
Expressing gratitude for the positive developments in bilateral relations, Belhoul conveyed greetings from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and expressed appreciation for the efforts to strengthen ties between the UAE and Iran. He reiterated the UAE's keenness to enhance relations with Iran, aligning with the aspirations and directives of its leadership.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from both sides to continue working closely together to advance their consular cooperation and address the evolving needs of their citizens.
