The idea that “foodies cannot stay fit” is very common, and it makes many people feel guilty whenever they eat something they like. However, fitness coach Raj Ganpath, who is the Founder of Slow Burn Method and Co-founder of Quad Fitness, has said that loving food does not mean a person cannot be healthy or in good shape.
In a recent video shared on Instagram, Raj explained that being a foodie and being fit can go together if a person follows some simple rules. He said that the real issue is not the love for food, but the habit of eating too much or eating without balance. “Being a foodie is not a reason to not be fit because it is very much possible to be a foodie and be fit,” he said. Raj shared four easy and practical tips that can help people enjoy food while still taking care of their health.
His first advice is to control the quantity of food on the plate. Raj said that there is a difference between a foodie and a glutton. A foodie enjoys flavours, but a glutton eats more than the body needs. He explained that people should pay attention to how much they are eating, and try to enjoy the taste of the food without overeating. Even when trying new dishes, the portion should be controlled so the body is not burdened.
The second tip he shared is to control the frequency of indulgence. Raj said that it is okay to eat enjoyable or special foods a few times a week, but it should not become an everyday habit. If a person eats rich or heavy food every day, it can affect their weight and overall health. He suggested that people should plan their meals in a way that they balance normal home-cooked food with occasional treats.
Raj’s third point highlights the importance of regular exercise. He explained that when people eat more than required, the extra energy gets stored in the body. To burn that extra energy, movement and exercise are necessary. He said that even simple activities like walking can help, but strength training is especially useful. According to him, strength training increases the body’s metabolic rate and helps burn calories more effectively. Regular exercise also keeps the body strong and active over time.
The fourth tip he mentioned is to monitor body metrics. Raj said that checking health numbers like body weight, body fat, blood sugar, and cholesterol can help people understand what is happening inside their body. When these numbers are checked regularly, it becomes easier to know when something is going wrong. This helps people make changes in time and return to healthy habits before the situation gets worse.
Raj’s advice has received positive responses online because many people feel that strict diets are hard to follow. His simple and balanced approach encourages people to enjoy food without guilt and maintain fitness in a practical way.
