Xposure 2025 will feature some of the world’s top photojournalists, each with their solo exhibitions. These exhibitions capture important moments in history and highlight struggles, triumphs, and untold stories from all around the globe. The photographers will take visitors on a journey through their lenses, showing us everything from war zones to disappearing ecosystems, offering a powerful way to understand the world’s challenges.
This year, Xposure also offers an exciting chance to learn directly from these top photographers. Visitors can attend talks and discussions where the photographers will share the techniques and philosophies behind their work. This is a rare opportunity to gain insight into how these photographers create their impactful images.
One of the most moving exhibitions at the festival is James Nachtwey’s “Geography of War.” It takes a hard look at the effects of war and conflict. Another powerful exhibition is “Life, Death, & Everything In Between” by Sir Don McCullin, which reflects on his long career documenting conflicts worldwide. These images have had a huge influence on how we understand and talk about global issues.
Cinzia Canneri’s exhibition, “Women,” focuses on female victims of gender violence, especially highlighting the stories of Eritrean women who fled to Ethiopia between 2017 and 2020 to escape repression. Veronique de Viguerie’s “La Vie En Rose” shows her unique approach to capturing moments of grace in conflict zones, challenging the usual image of war.
In addition to the exhibitions, the festival will host several thought-provoking talks. One of these, “Challenging the Integrity of Truth,” will feature award-winning photojournalists like Svetlana Bachevanova, Muhammed Muheisen, and Santiago Lyon. They will discuss the role of photography in shaping how we see the truth. Another important talk, “Framing Hunger,” will feature Lys Arango, who will explore the real struggles behind hunger and food insecurity in the world, moving beyond sensational headlines to show the complexities people face.
One of the exciting workshops at Xposure 2025 is “How to Capture the Best Photographs from Your Smartphone.” As smartphone technology continues to change photography, this workshop will teach visitors how to use their phones to capture powerful images, just like the professionals.
Xposure also pays tribute to the legacy of influential photojournalists who have passed away. Salim Amin will present “The Mohamed Amin Collection,” a special exhibition that honors his father, the well-known African photojournalist Mohamed Amin.
Xposure 2025 is more than just a photography festival; it’s a celebration of storytelling through images. Whether through exhibitions, talks, or workshops, this event offers a chance to experience the world’s most important stories through the eyes of those who capture them. It’s an event that promises to inspire and make us think about the power of photography in shaping our world.
