Telangana Is A Small State With Big Ambitions
While speaking to UAE industrialists, Mr. Sridhar Babu said that even though Telangana is not a very big state when we look at its size on the map, it has very big dreams and strong planning. The minister used the example of a phoenix, which is a mythical bird that rises again even after burning down, to describe Telangana’s growth. He said Telangana has risen like a phoenix and has become an example for other states in India in both development and welfare.
Telangana’s Growth Is Faster Than India’s Average
The minister also said that Telangana’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which is the total value of goods and services produced in the state, grew by 8.2% in 2024-25. This is higher than the national average of 7.6%. Telangana’s share in India’s total economy is now more than 5%, which shows that it is contributing a lot to the country’s growth.
Plans To Build Dry Ports, Green Hubs, And Metro
Telangana has made many plans to become a strong industrial state. The minister said that the state will build dry ports, multimodal logistics parks, and industrial corridors. Dry ports are places where goods are kept before they are sent to sea ports. Logistics parks help in storing and moving goods easily, and industrial corridors are areas with many industries along highways or railways.
He also talked about net-zero industrial parks. This means these parks will not cause harm to the environment as they will balance out the pollution they create. The state is also planning to set up EV (Electric Vehicle) zones, green logistics hubs, and projects like the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and Metro Phase-2. These plans will help the industries to work better and faster.
The Future City – A Global Hub For New Technologies
Mr. Sridhar Babu spoke about the Future City project, which Telangana is building to international standards. This city will focus on FinTech (Finance Technology), Climate Tech, and Smart Mobility innovation.
FinTech is a field where people use technology to provide better banking and finance services. Climate Tech means using technology to fight climate change and pollution. Smart Mobility means making transport easier and better using technology. The minister said that this Future City will become a world hub for innovation in these fields.
Growth In Data Centres, AI Labs, And Aerospace
The minister also shared that Telangana is seeing fast growth in data centres, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), AI labs, and aerospace clusters. Data centres are places where large amounts of computer data are stored and managed. AI labs work on Artificial Intelligence to make machines think smarter. Aerospace clusters are groups of companies that build parts for airplanes and spacecraft.
Exports To UAE Have Increased 2.5 Times
While speaking about the trade between Telangana and UAE, Mr. Sridhar Babu said that in the last 18 months, Telangana has received more than Rs 3.2 lakh crore in fresh investments. This is a very big amount that will help the state create new industries and jobs.
He also said that in the financial year 2024-25, exports from Telangana to the UAE increased by 2.5 times. Exports are goods that are sent from one country or state to another for sale. The main sectors that helped in this export growth are pharma, aerospace, digital services, and food processing.
Big UAE Companies Have Already Invested In Telangana
The minister shared that many famous UAE companies have already invested in Telangana. These include the Lulu Group, which runs large malls and supermarkets, DP World, which works in ports and logistics, and NAFFCO, which makes firefighting products and safety equipment.
A Strong Bond Between Telangana And UAE
Mr. Sridhar Babu described the investment summit as a meeting of old friends. He said that just like the UAE, Telangana also believes in time, trust, and transformation. Time means doing things quickly and efficiently. Trust means building strong bonds with partners. Transformation means bringing big changes to improve lives.
Who Attended The Event?
Many important people attended the event along with Mr. Sridhar Babu. These include:
UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri
Telangana IT & Industries Special Chief Secretary, Sanjay Kumar
TSIIC Managing Director, K Shashank
UAE Ministry of Investment Under Secretary, Mohammed Al Wahaibi
UAE International Investors Council Secretary General, Walid Hareb Al Falahi
Investopia CEO, Jean Fares
Telangana’s Future Looks Bright
By organising such international meetings and planning strong industrial growth, Telangana is showing its big dreams and clear plans for the future. The state wants to become rich, modern, and powerful by 2047 when India will celebrate 100 years of independence.
With the help of UAE industrialists and companies, Telangana hopes to create new jobs for its people, improve its economy, and become a model state not just in India but in the whole world.
