At the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg unveiled details about his upcoming alien film Disclosure Day, promising a more realistic take on extraterrestrial life than his earlier works.
Spielberg, known for classics like Close Encounters of the Third Kind, described his 1977 film as personal “speculation,” but emphasized that Disclosure Day leans closer to reality. The inspiration for the project came after he read a 2017 report by The New York Times detailing encounters between U.S. military pilots and unidentified flying objects.
“I truly believe this movie will answer some questions, while also raising many more,” Spielberg told attendees, teasing an intense cinematic experience without revealing key plot details. Early footage shown at the event featured a mysterious alien figure interacting with a human child, sparking curiosity among viewers.
The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colman Domingo, and Colin Firth, and is set for release in June by Universal Pictures.
Alongside Spielberg, acclaimed director Christopher Nolan also presented his upcoming film The Odyssey, based on the ancient Greek epic by Homer. The story follows a king’s challenging journey home after the Trojan War.
Nolan described the project as demanding but rewarding, highlighting the intense conditions faced during filming. Lead actor Matt Damon, who plays Odysseus, endured harsh environments including rough seas, mountains, caves, and extreme weather to bring authenticity to the role.
The Odyssey is scheduled to release in July, promising a visually powerful and emotionally driven retelling of one of history’s most enduring stories.
