Sheikh Nahyan Offers Condolences on the Passing of Aga Khan IV

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, recently met with Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan V, in Lisbon to offer his heartfelt condolences. He expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of Prince Karim Al-Husseini, Aga Khan IV, the 49th Imam of the Ismaili community. The meeting took place at the Ismaili Imamat headquarters in the Portuguese capital.

During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan shared his sympathies with Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan V, and the entire Ismaili community. He spoke about the late Aga Khan IV's remarkable contributions to humanity. Sheikh Nahyan described him as a leader who devoted his life to promoting education, healthcare, and sustainable development across the world.

The meeting was also attended by Sultan Ali Allana, a Director of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, and Aziz Merchant, the Chairman of the Ismaili Council for the UAE and the Gulf. Together, they reflected on the legacy of Aga Khan IV, acknowledging his efforts in fostering tolerance, peace, and understanding among different cultures.

Sheikh Nahyan highlighted how Aga Khan IV worked tirelessly to improve people's lives through various development projects. His work in education helped many children get access to quality learning, while his healthcare initiatives provided critical medical services to underserved communities. His environmental projects focused on sustainability, ensuring a better future for generations to come.

The late Aga Khan IV was not just a spiritual leader but also a humanitarian who believed in building bridges between cultures. His commitment to intercultural dialogue brought people from diverse backgrounds together, promoting peace and harmony.

Sheikh Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to maintaining strong ties with the Ismaili Imamat.
