His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, welcomed Sarah bint Youssed Al Amiri, Minister of Education, at Al Badi Palace on Wednesday morning. The Minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Education.

The warm reception highlighted the strong relationship between the leadership and the education sector in Sharjah. His Highness praised the Ministry for its tireless efforts in improving education and recognized the dedication of the Ministry’s staff who support schools, teachers, and students every day. His Highness stressed that education is the foundation for building the skills and talents of young people, which are vital for creating a brighter and more sustainable future for the nation.

Promoting Global Best Practices While Preserving Emirati Identity

His Highness highlighted the importance of adopting the best international practices in education, teaching, and curriculum development. At the same time, he emphasized that these practices must respect and preserve the UAE’s unique cultural identity. He explained that Islamic and Arab values, along with local customs, are an essential part of Emirati heritage, and schools have a key role in maintaining these traditions and passing them on to future generations.

“Education is not only about knowledge but also about values, culture, and preparing students to be responsible citizens who contribute positively to their country,” His Highness said. He stressed that schools should balance modern learning methods with local traditions to ensure students develop both intellectually and morally.

Plans for Enhancing Schools and Learning

The meeting also focused on the Ministry’s plans for the upcoming school year. His Highness was briefed on several key initiatives designed to improve education quality for all students. These plans include:

  • Upgrading school facilities: Modernizing classrooms and school buildings to create an environment that supports learning and creativity.

  • Adopting modern teaching methods: Introducing new ways of teaching to make lessons more interactive and engaging for students.

  • Incorporating technology in learning: Using smart technologies to help students learn more effectively and gain practical skills for the future.

His Highness emphasized the importance of supporting teachers in their roles. He noted that when teachers are well-trained and provided with the right tools, they can perform their duties more effectively, leading to better learning outcomes for students.

New Initiatives to Support Student Development

The Minister of Education briefed His Highness about the most prominent new initiatives launched at the start of the school year. These initiatives are designed to strengthen the role of schools in shaping students’ personalities and preparing them for the challenges of the modern world.

Some of the main focuses of these initiatives include:

  • Enhancing the educational process to improve student performance.

  • Encouraging creativity, innovation, and critical thinking in schools.

  • Promoting programs that develop leadership skills and personal growth among students.

  • Collaborating with local and federal organizations to achieve the UAE’s vision for an advanced educational system.

His Highness appreciated the Ministry’s commitment to providing high-quality education that meets international standards while remaining rooted in Emirati traditions and values. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping the future generation of the UAE.

Support for Teachers and Staff

His Highness highlighted that teachers are the backbone of the educational system. He praised their efforts in guiding students and helping them reach their full potential. The Ministry’s plans include providing continuous support for teachers, ensuring they have access to professional development programs, training workshops, and modern teaching tools.

“Supporting our teachers is one of the most important steps in improving education because they directly shape the minds and abilities of our students,” His Highness said. He added that a well-supported teacher can inspire and lead students to achieve excellence both academically and personally.

Minister of Education Expresses Gratitude

Sarah bint Youssed Al Amiri, Minister of Education, expressed her sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his warm welcome and unwavering support for the education sector. She highlighted that the Ministry is dedicated to implementing programs that help students gain essential knowledge and skills for the future.

The Minister noted that these programs align with the UAE’s broader goals of building a world-class educational system that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century while remaining deeply connected to Emirati culture and values.

Building a Strong Educational Future

The meeting between His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and the Minister of Education underscores the UAE’s commitment to education as a key pillar of national development. By combining global best practices with a strong respect for local traditions, the UAE aims to provide students with a modern and comprehensive education that prepares them for success.

The discussions also reflect the importance of cooperation between government leadership, the Ministry of Education, schools, teachers, and students. This collaborative approach ensures that every student receives a high-quality education, develops essential life skills, and grows as a responsible and talented member of society.
