Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the 15th edition of the Ramadan Council will begin on Sunday after Taraweeh prayers in Aljada. The event will continue until 26 February.
The Ramadan Council is organised by the Sharjah Press Club under the umbrella of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. The annual gathering aims to promote cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange during the holy month of Ramadan.
Opening Literary Session
The council will open with a literary session titled “Beyond the Poem: Hidden Stories Shaping Poetry.” The session will host poet and content creator Abdullah Al Enezi, known as “Abu Aseel,” and will be moderated by journalist Hamed bin Mohammadi.
The discussion will explore the experiences and emotions that come before poetry is written. Abu Aseel will speak about some of the most famous poems in Arabic literature and the untold stories behind them. He will highlight how personal experiences, deep questions, and key life moments influence poetic language and shape the final text.
The session will also examine the connection between written poetry and real-life experiences, offering a deeper understanding of how human context shapes creative expression.
Interactive Activities and Competitions
Alongside the sessions, the Ramadan Council will include interactive activities and competitions for attendees. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, take part in activities, and win valuable prizes. The organisers aim to create a lively environment that combines learning, entertainment, and community participation.
Focus on Key Social Topics
This year’s programme will cover important topics that match public interests. Upcoming sessions will address themes such as health and quality of life, self-development, and travel. Experts and specialists in these fields will join the discussions to share insights and practical knowledge.
Through this annual platform, the Sharjah Press Club continues its commitment to encouraging open dialogue, spreading knowledge, and building community awareness. The Ramadan Council remains a key cultural event in Sharjah, bringing together thought leaders and the public in meaningful conversations during Ramadan.
