Sharjah FC Wins Inaugural AFC Champions League 2 Title

Sharjah Football Club made history on Sunday by winning the very first AFC Champions League 2 trophy. They beat Singapore’s Lion City Sailors with a score of 2-1 in a very exciting match at Bishan Stadium.

The game was full of ups and downs. Sharjah scored the first goal in the 74th minute, thanks to Firas Belarbi. But the home team, Lion City Sailors, did not give up. In stoppage time, at the 91st minute, Maxime Lestienne scored a goal to tie the game 1-1.

Just when everyone thought the match would go into extra time, Marcus Meloni scored an important goal in the 97th minute, during injury time. This goal gave Sharjah a 2-1 win and made the victory very special.

This win is Sharjah’s first-ever title in a big Asian football competition. The tournament is new and has replaced the old AFC Cup. It includes 32 teams from different parts of Asia, divided into East and West groups.

Sharjah’s coach, Cosmin Olaroiu from Romania, praised his team for not giving up. He said this victory shows how hard the players worked and how much they believed in themselves.

Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who is the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, congratulated the leaders of the UAE on this great win. Sheikh Sultan said this win is a proud moment for the whole nation. It shows how the UAE is becoming stronger in sports and is making a name for itself in Asian football. He also said the victory shows the progress of sports in the UAE under the wise leadership of the country’s rulers.
