RTA Awards AED 431m Project for Dubai Harbour Entry/Exit Points with Shamal Holding

In alignment with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at bolstering Dubai's infrastructure to accommodate urban expansion and demographic growth, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has sanctioned a monumental AED 431 million project. This initiative, executed in collaboration with 'Shamal Holding,' a prominent investment firm renowned for its diverse portfolio, marks the construction of direct entry and exit points for Dubai Harbour.

At the heart of this project is the creation of a two-lane bridge spanning 1500 meters in each direction, connecting Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Harbour—a prestigious seafront residential hub boasting the largest marina in the region. This strategic infrastructure enhancement, overseen by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, underscores Dubai's commitment to facilitating smoother mobility for both residents and visitors.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, emphasized the project's pivotal role in alleviating traffic congestion and reducing travel times significantly. The bridge will facilitate the smooth flow of approximately 6000 vehicles per hour, enhancing accessibility to Dubai Harbour from key intersections such as Sheikh Zayed Road's 5th junction, Al Naseem Street, Al Falak Street, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, and Dubai Harbour Street.

Abdulla Binhabtoor, CEO of Shamal Holding, highlighted the project's broader impact on Dubai Harbour's development as a premier residential and lifestyle destination. The initiative includes improvements to surrounding intersections, promising to cut travel times from 12 minutes to a mere 3 minutes upon completion. This transformation aims to elevate the area's appeal by integrating quality living spaces with panoramic sea and city views, alongside world-class retail and hospitality offerings.

Dubai Harbour's strategic location, nestled between Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah, positions it as a sought-after address with proximity to iconic landmarks like Burj Al Arab and Expo Dubai. The district's allure lies in its blend of luxury residences, commercial attractions, and recreational facilities, including Skydive Dubai and an upcoming residential complex featuring 24 towers and 7500 apartments.
