Pakistan Army Captain, 10 Terrorists Killed In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operation

A Pakistan Army captain and 10 terrorists were killed in a heavy gunfight during an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district. The army confirmed this.

The army said the operation was carried out on Thursday based on reports of terrorists hiding in the area. During the clash, Captain Hasnain Akhtar led his team bravely but was martyred while fighting. The army praised him as a fearless officer known for his bold actions in past operations.

After the fight, the army found many weapons and bullets from the dead terrorists. The army said these terrorists were involved in many deadly attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent people.

The army is now searching the area to make sure no more terrorists are hiding. They promised to keep fighting against terrorism and said that the sacrifice of Captain Akhtar will make them even stronger.

Pakistan has seen more terrorist attacks in recent years, especially after the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 2021. The border areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have faced the most violence, with frequent attacks on security forces.

Recent reports showed that in January 2025, terrorist attacks in Pakistan increased by 42% compared to the previous month. There were 74 attacks that caused 91 deaths, including 35 security officers, 20 civilians, and 36 terrorists. Another 117 people were hurt, including 53 security officers, 54 civilians, and 10 terrorists.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the worst-hit area, followed by Balochistan. In the settled areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there were 27 attacks, which caused 19 deaths. Among them were 11 security officers, six civilians, and two terrorists.

In the tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly FATA), there were 19 attacks, resulting in 46 deaths. This included 13 security officers, eight civilians, and 25 terrorists.

The army said it will keep fighting against terrorism and will not let the sacrifices of brave officers like Captain Hasnain Akhtar go in vain.
