Dubai’s Museum of the Future has completed four years since its opening and is close to welcoming five million visitors. The milestone reflects the museum’s growing global presence and its role as a leading platform for innovation, knowledge exchange, and future-focused dialogue.
His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Museum of the Future, said that Dubai and the UAE have made designing the future a shared global mission. He highlighted that the museum brings together leading minds from around the world to create practical solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
The museum opened on 22 February 2022 and embodies the vision of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It serves as a global space where experts, innovators, and decision-makers meet to discuss key global issues and turn ideas into real-world solutions.
Major Achievements in Four Years
Over the past four years, the museum has hosted:
620 events, conferences, and talks
224 educational programmes and workshops
These events covered important topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainable cities, education, healthcare, economy, work, technology, and the arts.
In 2025 alone, the museum welcomed nine Heads of State and 46 ministers, along with several diplomatic and government delegations from around the world. This has strengthened its position as a destination for high-level international engagement.
Global Hub for Dialogue and Innovation
The museum hosts the Dubai Future Forum, recognized as the world’s largest gathering of futurists. It also runs the Future Talks series, which features global thinkers, experts, and leaders discussing major scientific, humanitarian, and technological changes.
One of its key initiatives is the ‘Great Arab Minds’ programme, which honors outstanding Arab scholars and thinkers. So far, 18 distinguished figures have been recognized across three editions.
The museum also hosted a special Future Talks session with global star Sarah Jessica Parker, discussing the future of sustainable jewellery, showing its ability to attract influential personalities from different sectors.
World Preservation Lab and BioVault
During the World Governments Summit 2026, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directed that the Museum of the Future become the permanent home of the ‘World Preservation Lab and BioVault’.
The lab, developed in partnership with Colossal Biosciences, focuses on biotechnology, species preservation, and ecosystem sustainability. It will support scientists and researchers working to protect endangered species and raise awareness about biodiversity conservation.
Architectural and Sustainability Excellence
The Museum of the Future stands 77 metres high and features a unique architectural design. Its façade includes 1,024 panels covering 17,600 square metres and is decorated with Arabic calligraphy featuring quotes by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Sustainability is a key part of the museum’s design. More than 30% of its energy comes from solar power. It uses advanced insulation, energy-efficient cooling systems, and LED lighting. In 2023, the museum received LEED Platinum certification for energy and environmental design, making it a model of sustainable architecture in the region.
As it enters its fifth year, the Museum of the Future aims to expand its global impact. Beyond visitor numbers and events, its main goal is to create lasting change, encourage innovation, and build international cooperation to shape a better and more sustainable future.
From its announcement in 2015 to its global opening in 2022, the museum has quickly become one of the world’s fastest-growing knowledge institutions and one of Dubai’s most visited landmarks.
