An Algerian man, only known as Omar B., who disappeared at the age of 19 during the Algerian Civil War in 1998, has been found after 26 years of being missing. The shocking discovery was made in his neighbor's house, merely a short walk away from his family's residence in the city of Djelfa. Omar B.'s sudden reappearance has stunned his family, who had long assumed him to be either kidnapped or deceased.
Now 45 years old, Omar B. was located amidst haystacks just approximately 200 meters from his family's home. The revelation came to light after the captor's brother aired grievances on social media, allegedly stemming from an inheritance dispute. The Algerian justice ministry confirmed the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Omar B.'s disappearance and captivity.

The alleged captor, identified as a 61-year-old doorman employed at the municipality in the nearby town of El Guedid, was apprehended as he attempted to flee the scene. Algerian media sources reported that Omar B. claimed he had been unable to seek assistance due to a supposed spell cast upon him by his captor.
Following the arrest, the Algerian authorities have taken stringent measures, ensuring Omar B.'s well-being. He is currently receiving both medical attention and psychological support in light of the traumatic ordeal he endured. The ministry denounced the crime as "heinous" and affirmed its commitment to pursuing justice for the victim and his family.
