Maktoum bin Mohammed Meets KKR EMEA Co-Head to Discuss Global Investment Opportunities

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance of the UAE, met today with Tara Davies. Tara Davies is a Partner and Co-Head of KKR for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), as well as the Co-Head of European Infrastructure. KKR is a well-known private equity and investment firm globally. The meeting took place at Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed’s office in Dubai.

During their conversation, Sheikh Maktoum emphasized the UAE’s strong dedication to building partnerships with top financial firms around the world. He highlighted that the UAE provides excellent infrastructure, supportive business services, and clear regulations that help such companies grow. He stated that the UAE’s unique business environment makes it a perfect base for global financial firms wanting to expand in the region and take advantage of growth opportunities.

Sheikh Maktoum also shared that Dubai is committed to working closely with leading financial companies as part of its focus on public-private partnerships. This cooperation is a key step in achieving the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This ambitious plan aims to make Dubai one of the world’s top four financial centers by the year 2033.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including His Excellency Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Finance; His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports; His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

KKR, officially known as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., is one of the leading private equity and investment firms in the world. The company set up its office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in 2009. KKR invests in private markets globally and has $624 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2024. This makes KKR one of the most influential players in the financial world. 

Sheikh Maktoum’s meeting with KKR reflects Dubai’s growing role as a major financial hub and its commitment to strengthening its position on the global economic stage.
