Madinah Region Development Authority Takes Part in Smart Cities Expo

The Al Madinah Region Development Authority (MRDA) is actively participating in the 14th annual Smart Cities Expo and World Congress (CEWC24) being held in Barcelona, Spain, from November 5 to 7. This marks the authority's third consecutive participation in the prestigious global event, which brings together experts, innovators, and leaders in urban development, sustainability, and smart technologies.

Representatives from the MRDA will deliver keynote speeches and engage in high-level panel sessions at the event, showcasing Madinah’s forward-thinking approach in adopting smart, sustainable, and human-centered city concepts. As part of its participation, the MRDA has set up the "Madinah" pavilion, which highlights the city’s progress in integrating advanced smart practices designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and improve the experience of visitors. 

The Madinah pavilion will feature a range of award-winning, innovative solutions in the field of smart cities, further emphasizing the city's leadership in urban transformation. Among the showcased solutions is the "City Experiences Guide," a groundbreaking platform that serves as the world’s first comprehensive guide to urban experiences and innovations. This guide is intended to inspire and assist other cities looking to develop smart and sustainable urban solutions.

Additionally, the pavilion will present two important national platforms: Raseel, which is focused on smart city applications, and Manarah, a platform dedicated to urban data management. The pavilion will also highlight other advanced technologies, including a LoRaWAN-enabled smart lighting network and the 3D geospatial information system, which is used for urban modeling at the Prophet’s Mosque.

Through its participation in CEWC24, the Al Madinah Region Development Authority aims to share its experiences, learn from international best practices, and continue strengthening Madinah’s position as a pioneer in the field of smart city development.

This initiative is in line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which seeks to promote smart cities, innovation, and sustainability, ensuring that cities in the Kingdom are equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
