Violinist Files Lawsuit Against Will Smith for Alleged Misconduct

Will Smith is currently embroiled in a legal controversy as violinist Brian King Joseph, who played during Smith's Based on a True Story tour in 2025, has initiated a lawsuit alleging serious misconduct.

The lawsuit, targeting both Will Smith and Treyball Studios Management, charges them with sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Joseph's engagement began in November 2024 at a concert in San Diego, leading to his participation in Smith's 2025 tour and other musical endeavors.

As their working relationship evolved, Joseph claims that Smith made inappropriate personal comments suggesting a special emotional bond, such as asserting, "You and I share a unique connection that I don’t have with anyone else."

An incident detailed in the lawsuit reportedly took place during a Las Vegas show in March 2025, when Joseph's hotel room key mysteriously went missing for hours, only to be returned by hotel management—individuals who had exclusive access to the room.

Upon returning to his room that evening, Joseph discovered signs of unauthorized entry, with unfamiliar items present, including wipes, an HIV medication bottle marked with someone else’s name, and a handwritten note for him. The note read, "Brian, I'll return no later than 5:30, just us," accompanied by a heart symbol and the name "Stone F."

Feeling alarmed by the note, Joseph contacted hotel security and notified tour representatives, reporting the matter to local authorities through a non-emergency line.

Despite his reports, Joseph asserts that a management member accused him of dishonesty, leading to his dismissal from the tour.

The lawsuit argues that this termination resulted in significant emotional distress, including PTSD symptoms, alongside financial and career losses. As a result, Joseph seeks damages for sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination, with the amount to be adjudicated by a jury.
