A man from Las Vegas has been arrested and charged for shooting his landlord after receiving an eviction notice.
The incident happened in Nevada when Christopher Rainey, 36, who was renting a room, got angry after his landlord, who was also his roommate, gave him an eviction notice. On the afternoon of Thursday, May 29, police were called to a home on North Campbell Road following reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived at the house around 4:46 PM, they spoke with people inside. Christopher Rainey came out holding a handgun and was immediately arrested. Inside the house, police found the landlord lying on the floor with serious gunshot wounds. Emergency medical staff arrived but declared the man dead at the scene.
The police investigation revealed that the landlord was Rainey's roommate. After the landlord gave Rainey the eviction notice, the two had a short argument. During this, Rainey shot the landlord several times.

The roommate said, “He was my friend, and he didn’t deserve to die like this.” When talking about Rainey, the same roommate said, “He kept to himself. He was creepy and sneaky, always staying in his room.”
Christopher Rainey did not appear in court for his hearing scheduled on June 3.
