Dubai, UAE – The UAE is a country where people from all over the world come together to share their talents, ideas, and dreams. Among these inspiring individuals is Irka Bochenko, known for her role in the James Bond movie Moonraker, as well as her work as a singer, writer, and fashion stylist. Irka’s journey is full of creativity, passion, and a deep love for connecting with others through her art.

As part of DXB News Network’s “Voices of UAE: Stories That Inspire” campaign, Chief Editor Dr. Amrinder Pal Singh sat down with Irka to talk about her life, her work, and her dreams for the future. Irka’s love for the arts began when she was very young. She fondly remembered playing the role of a princess in a school celebration when she was just four years old. Her family moved to France when she was six, and though she didn’t speak French at the time, her father helped her learn nursery rhymes, which became her introduction to the world of storytelling and music.
“These early experiences sparked my fascination with the arts,” Irka shared. “I started writing at a young age, and when I got my first guitar, it felt like the beginning of something very special.” Irka believes that creativity is everywhere. “I find inspiration in nature, joyful moments, and even the challenges we face,” she said. “It’s about observing the world and turning those feelings into something beautiful.” For Irka, music is more than just entertainment—it’s her way of sharing her heart with the world. She spoke about how her songs are born. “Sometimes, it starts with a feeling or a memory,” she said. “A phrase or a tune will come to me unexpectedly, and I build the song from there.”
Performing, for Irka, is about creating a bond with her audience. “Every performance feels like I’m telling a story,” she explained. “It’s not just about singing the words; it’s about sharing the emotions behind them. I want the audience to feel what I’m feeling.” Irka’s life has taken her across the world. Born in Poland, raised in France, and now living in Dubai, she says these experiences have shaped who she is as a person and as an artist.
“Traveling the world has been incredibly enriching,” she said. “Each culture has something unique to offer, and it has all influenced my art. Dubai, however, stands out as the most vibrant and dynamic place I’ve lived in. It’s a city where creativity thrives, and living here has taught me that art connects us all, no matter where we come from.”
Irka’s music is not only about entertainment—it’s also a way to make a difference. One of her songs, “Blue Planet,” highlights the importance of protecting the environment and was performed at Expo 2020 in Dubai. Another project close to her heart is “Chéri, This Is Not Me,” a tribute to women’s rights. The song, which features women from around the world, will be released on Women’s Day. “How could one not be touched by these causes?” Irka said, her voice full of emotion. “Art and advocacy go hand in hand for me. Both come from a desire to create a positive impact on the world.” In addition to her work in music and acting, Irka has recently entered the world of fashion. She launched her clothing line, “Le Chic from Paris,” which blends Parisian elegance with artistic expression.
Her collection includes original designs in limited series, with each piece personalized to offer something truly unique to the wearer. Irka is deeply involved in every step of the process, ensuring that the materials and details enhance each creation. “Clothing has always been a passion of mine,” Irka said. “I see it as another way to express yourself. I want people to feel special and confident when they wear my designs.”
As part of the “Voices of UAE” campaign, Irka shared some advice for young artists and creators in the UAE:
“Believe in your unique voice and never stop following your passion. The world needs your creativity. The UAE is a place where anything is possible. Don’t be afraid to take risks and stay true to who you are. Every step of your journey adds to the art and culture of the future.”
She also expressed her gratitude to DXB News Network: “A big thank you to DXB News Network for giving me the chance to share my story. Their support inspires people like me to keep creating and contributing to the cultural richness of the UAE.”
