Inside the Glamorous Weekend Celebrating SNL’s 50th Anniversary

This weekend, the famous comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL) is celebrating its 50th anniversary in a big way with several exciting events in New York City.

The celebrations started on Friday evening with SNL50: The Homecoming Concert at Radio City Music Hall. The red carpet was full of Hollywood stars, as expected. Over the years, SNL has had many famous actors, musicians, and celebrities appear on the show, so it was no surprise that some big names showed up. Among those who walked the red carpet were Miley Cyrus, Chris Pine, and Christine Baranski, all dressed in glamorous outfits for the occasion.

Inside the venue, there were many unforgettable performances. Lady Gaga and Andy Samberg performed Shallow—but with a hilarious twist! Gaga pretended to mess up the song on purpose before they transitioned into Dick in a Box, a famous SNL parody song from 2009. Gaga wore a black velvet dress with a funny-looking gift box attached to her waist—fans immediately understood the joke.

Miley Cyrus wowed the crowd with her performance of Flowers. She also teamed up with Brittany Howard to sing a cover of Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love. At one point, she even shouted that she loves Paul Rudd, making the audience laugh.

The night was packed with even more musical moments. Cher performed her hit song If I Could Turn Back Time, while artists like Bad Bunny, Post Malone, The Backstreet Boys, and The B-52’s also took the stage. Actors Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer gave a funny spin on popular songs, including a playful version of Doechii’s Denial is a River.

The celebrations didn’t stop there! On Sunday night, the official SNL50: The Anniversary Special aired. Before the show, another red-carpet event took place, where even more celebrities arrived to watch the big anniversary special.
