IndiGo Flight Faces Security Threat, Cleared After Checks

Mumbai: A security concern was detected on an IndiGo flight bound for Delhi from Mumbai on Tuesday, prompting immediate intervention by aviation authorities. The aircraft, flight 6E 762, was subjected to thorough security checks before being cleared for departure, an IndiGo spokesperson confirmed.

The airline stated that it followed established safety protocols and cooperated fully with authorities to ensure passenger safety. “A security threat was noticed onboard IndiGo flight 6E 762 operating from Mumbai to Delhi on September 30, 2025. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for operations,” the spokesperson added.

This is not the first such incident involving IndiGo in recent weeks. On September 19, flight 6E 1089 operating from Mumbai to Phuket was diverted to Chennai after a security threat was detected onboard. The flight was held in Chennai for necessary security inspections, and its onward journey was delayed due to a night curfew at Phuket airport.

IndiGo officials emphasized their efforts to minimize passenger inconvenience during such incidents. “We are making all efforts to provide comfort, including refreshments and regular updates. The safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority,” the airline noted.

Earlier, on September 14, IndiGo flight 6E 2111 from Lucknow to Delhi experienced a technical snag just before take-off. The aircraft was returned to the bay as a precaution, passengers were safely disembarked, and another aircraft was arranged to continue the journey.

These incidents highlight the airline’s strict adherence to safety protocols and the ongoing vigilance of authorities to ensure secure air travel amid occasional technical or security challenges.
