Huawei has launched a brand-new flip phone, but this one is unlike anything we have seen before. The Huawei Pura X comes with a wider design than regular flip phones, making it stand out from models by Samsung and Motorola. Once unfolded, it almost feels like a small tablet, thanks to its 6.3-inch screen and 16:10 aspect ratio. This larger display is perfect for browsing the web, watching videos, and multitasking—something that most flip phones struggle with.
No Android? No Problem!
One of the biggest surprises about the Pura X is that it does not run on Android. Instead, Huawei has powered this phone with HarmonyOS 5, its software. This is a major move for the company as it steps away from Google’s operating system and works toward creating its independent smartphone ecosystem.
The new software promises a smooth and fresh user experience, with an added bonus—Huawei’s AI assistant, Xiaoyi. This smart assistant helps users by managing daily tasks, providing useful suggestions, and making the phone feel more personalized.

Different Versions for Different Users
The Huawei Pura X comes in two versions:
Regular Model: Available in black, white, and silver for a classic look.
Collector’s Edition: Comes in bold red and green, featuring 16GB of RAM for those who want extra power and speed.
Price and Availability
The Pura X is priced at 7,499 Chinese yuan (about $1,037), making it a premium device but still reasonably priced compared to other high-end foldables. Right now, the phone is only available in China, but it has the potential to shake up the global foldable smartphone market if launched internationally.
With its unique design, bigger screen, and powerful features, the Huawei Pura X is more than just another flip phone—it’s a fresh take on what foldable phones can be.
