HCL Software, a global company known for its strong business software, has announced a new version of its popular collaboration platform called Domino. This new version is called Domino 14.5, and it comes with many improved features to make teamwork safer, easier, and faster.
One of the most important parts of this update is the launch of Domino IQ, which is a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool built with strict privacy in mind. It is designed mainly for government departments and industries that are highly regulated, such as finance, defence, and healthcare. These organisations need to keep full control over their data and digital systems to ensure everything remains private and secure.

Domino IQ is part of the larger Domino+ suite. This suite includes many tools that help people work together safely without worrying about losing control of their information. Domino IQ uses AI to help organisations:
The special thing about Domino IQ is that it follows strict data privacy rules. This means the information stays within the organisation, and no foreign cloud service can access it. It also helps these organisations follow new laws like the European Union’s AI Act, which sets rules for using AI safely and ethically in Europe.
In today’s world, there are many risks when it comes to data security. Governments, banks, and big companies need to protect their sensitive information from hackers or foreign spying. That is why they prefer software that allows them to keep data within their servers instead of using public cloud services from other countries.
Richard Jefts, who is the Executive Vice President and General Manager at HCLSoftware, explained:
“In today’s fast-changing world, organisations want to have control over their data and communication. Public institutions, financial companies, and regulated industries need more than normal cloud tools. They need platforms that protect their operations. With Domino 14.5, we are helping over 200 government departments worldwide keep their communication, documents, and teamwork tools safe.”
To ensure that Domino 14.5 remains private and secure, HCL Software is working with IONOS, a company in Europe that provides safe cloud infrastructure.
Achim Weiss, the CEO of IONOS, said:
“Europe’s digital independence depends on solutions that are not just technically advanced but also free from foreign influence. We are happy to support HCLSoftware with infrastructure that is secure, reliable, and built with data protection in mind.”
This means that European organisations using Domino 14.5 can rely on European servers and systems, keeping their data within their region.
The new version of Domino has several important improvements to help organisations meet their needs for secure and compliant digital collaboration.
Today, many organisations worry about losing control over their data when using foreign cloud services. With Domino 14.5, they can:
This is especially important for government bodies, banks, healthcare providers, and defence institutions, where data privacy is critical for national security and public trust.
HCLSoftware is the software division of HCLTech, which is a major technology company in the world. HCLSoftware offers advanced software solutions in areas like:
They serve over 20,000 organisations worldwide, including most of the companies in the Fortune 100 list. Their focus is on building strong software products with:
With this new update, HCLSoftware is showing that it cares about its customers’ needs for data security, privacy, and independence. By launching Domino IQ and working with partners like IONOS, they are helping organisations stay safe in the digital world, comply with laws like the EU AI Act, and continue their operations without fear of data breaches or foreign surveillance.
This launch also shows how AI can be used responsibly to support daily work in governments and regulated industries while keeping sensitive information under strict control.
