Hatta Farming Festival Returns, Boosting UAE Agriculture

Dubai Municipality has announced the return of the Hatta Farming Festival in its third edition as part of the ‘Dubai Farms’ programme launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The festival is being held at Hatta Leem Lake and will run until 1 February, bringing together Emirati farmers, estate owners, and agricultural companies.

The event is part of the ‘Hatta Winter’ initiative by Brand Dubai and supports the #DubaiDestinations campaign, which highlights Hatta’s tourism, heritage, and agricultural strengths. The festival aims to strengthen Hatta’s position as a key agri-tourism and eco-tourism destination in the UAE.

This year’s edition has expanded participation, with specialised farms, estates, and companies showcasing innovative agricultural products and modern farming solutions. For the first time, government and private sector entities are also participating to support People of Determination through workshops, product displays, and activities. These efforts align with Dubai’s vision to support young farmers and grow the agricultural sector.

Dubai Municipality has also introduced support packages worth AED 3.7 million for Hatta farmers. These include the distribution of fertilisers and seeds, agricultural advisory services, pest control support, and the launch of three tourism and production projects using modern agricultural technologies.

Director General of Dubai Municipality, Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, said the festival is a key platform for farmers and local producers to access markets, training, and advisory services in one place. He added that the initiative supports food security, sustainable farming, rural development, and community wellbeing.

The festival is free for the public and features platforms for selling local agricultural and family products, livestock competitions, training programmes, consultancy services, and prizes for farmers and visitors. Hatta residents can participate free of charge, with permit fees waived for temporary food activities during the event.

The Hatta Farming Festival brings together farmers, consumers, and supporting organisations to promote sustainable agriculture, knowledge sharing, and local products. It also encourages community participation through workshops, competitions, and live activities, supporting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in Hatta.

Dubai Municipality said the festival reflects its vision to make Dubai more sustainable and liveable, while empowering farmers, protecting biodiversity, strengthening the green economy, and improving quality of life in the Hatta region.
