Teaching young people about artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming very important for countries that want to grow and succeed in the future. Many countries around the world are starting to include AI in their school programs at all levels of education.
The UAE is one of the countries that are leading this change. In 2025, AI will be taught as a subject in all public schools, from kindergarten all the way to Grade 12. This is a big step to prepare students for the future.
China is also ahead in teaching AI. In 2018, China began teaching AI in 40 schools. They created textbooks and trained thousands of teachers to teach AI. This year, they announced that AI lessons will be added to schools all over the country. Students in primary and secondary schools will have at least eight hours of AI classes each year, either as a separate subject or as part of subjects like technology or science.

South Korea has also introduced AI in schools. Starting in 2022, high schools began teaching AI. This year, the program is expanding to include kindergartens, elementary schools, and middle schools. This move is part of South Korea’s plan to prepare students for a digital world.
Finland is another country that has been successful in teaching AI. They started an online AI course in 2018 at the University of Helsinki. The course was free, and many people in Finland signed up. In fact, over 1% of Finland’s population took the course. Because it was so popular, the course was translated into 22 different languages, helping people around the world learn about AI. Finland is now known for making AI education available to everyone.
Singapore is also a great example of how to teach AI. The country has become a global leader in AI education. It offers many advanced programs that teach students about things like machine learning, robotics, and big data. Singapore’s schools and universities focus on both the theory and the practical use of AI.
These countries are all showing how important it is to teach AI in schools to prepare the next generation for a digital future. As AI continues to grow, it will be essential for students to understand how it works and how it can help shape the world.
