UAE’s UICCA Rebrands to Frontier25 to Drive Climate Action

In a powerful move to accelerate climate progress, Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan announced the rebranding of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) to Frontier25, a dedicated climate action advisory committed to turning ideas into measurable impact. The announcement was made at the Ideas to Impact Forum in Abu Dhabi, where over 250 officials, business leaders, and sustainability experts gathered to explore practical solutions for a greener future.

Frontier25 carries forward the legacy of UICCA, but with a renewed sense of urgency. The name itself marks a defining threshold — the “frontier” between climate crisis and course correction — symbolising 2025 as the pivotal year to act decisively toward the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals.

Over the past three years, UICCA has built strong alliances, published 20+ market insights, hosted numerous policy discussions, made 25 policy recommendations, and supported over 80 climate startups. Now, Frontier25 aims to move from discussion to execution, focusing on three key pillars — evidence-based advisory, market acceleration, and strategic alliances.

Through initiatives like Launchpads, Policy Hacks, and Industry Roadshows, Frontier25 will support startups, investors, and policymakers in driving measurable progress. The organisation will remain independent and non-profit, continuing its mission to strengthen the UAE’s green economy with practical climate solutions.

At the forum, five key themes shaping the region’s sustainability roadmap were highlighted — Climate Finance, Climate Literacy, Policy in the Built Environment, Maritime Decarbonisation, and Sustainable Skies.

From addressing the MENA region’s $500 billion investment gap in green finance to supporting sustainable shipping and aviation, these focus areas reflect the UAE’s determination to lead climate innovation on a global scale.

As temperatures rise and time runs short, Frontier25 stands as a bold reminder that the era of pledges has passed — the next frontier is action.
