Comments from flydubai Officials

Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for UAE, GCC, Africa, and South Asia at flydubai, said:

“We are excited to expand our presence in Kenya with the new flights to Nairobi and the increased frequency to Mombasa. Our daily service to Mombasa, which started as a four-times-weekly service in 2024, now offers more options for customers. Travelers from the UAE and our global network can now access Kenya more easily, whether for business, leisure, or visiting friends and family. We thank the Kenyan authorities and our partners for supporting us in making these new routes possible.”

This statement reflects flydubai’s dedication to building a reliable and accessible network that connects Dubai to major cities in Africa, creating opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Why Nairobi is a Key Destination

Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, is often called East Africa’s economic, cultural, and political hub. The city is home to:

  • Bustling business districts

  • Vibrant local markets

  • A diverse cultural scene

Nairobi is also unique for its proximity to wildlife. The famous Nairobi National Park is located just minutes from the city center, allowing visitors to experience Kenya’s wildlife without leaving the city. This combination of urban life and nature makes Nairobi an attractive destination for both business travelers and tourists.

Passenger Experience with flydubai

flydubai offers a comfortable and modern flying experience for all passengers.

  • Business Class passengers enjoy lie-flat seats, internationally inspired menus, and hours of entertainment during the flight.

  • Economy Class passengers can relax in seats with gentle recline and adjustable leather headrests, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey.

This focus on passenger comfort ensures that travelers from Dubai to Nairobi or Mombasa have a pleasant flying experience, whether traveling for business, vacation, or visiting family.

Flight and Fare Details

Flights to Nairobi International Airport (NBO) will operate four times a week from Dubai International Airport, Terminal 3, starting 15 October 2025.

  • Business Class fares from Dubai to Nairobi start from AED 4,500 for a return journey.

  • Economy Class Lite fares start from AED 1,700 for a return journey.

  • Fares from Nairobi to Dubai start from USD 2,000 for Business Class and USD 500 for Economy Class Lite.

The affordable fares and frequent flights make it easier for travelers to plan trips between Dubai and Kenya, encouraging tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

flydubai’s Commitment to Africa

Over the years, flydubai has steadily expanded its network across Africa, connecting Dubai to important cities and facilitating stronger business, trade, and tourism links. The airline’s expansion to Nairobi and increased frequency to Mombasa reflects its commitment to supporting economic growth and enhancing travel options for passengers.

These new routes not only improve connectivity between Dubai and Kenya but also contribute to stronger bilateral relations between the UAE and East African nations.

With the launch of flights to Nairobi and the daily service to Mombasa, flydubai strengthens its position in Africa. These flights provide passengers with convenient travel options, modern services, and a comfortable flying experience.

As Dubai continues to serve as a global aviation hub, flydubai’s new flights will enhance trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the UAE and Kenya, creating opportunities for growth and development in both regions. Travelers can now explore Nairobi’s business districts, markets, and wildlife, while also enjoying seamless connections to Dubai and beyond.

This expansion demonstrates flydubai’s commitment to connecting communities, supporting tourism, and facilitating business opportunities across East Africa, ensuring passengers experience the best of both worlds — comfort and convenience in the skies.
