The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2025 is set to take place from 11–15 September 2025 in Abu Dhabi. This championship is not just about competition; it is about celebrating women in sports, encouraging teamwork, and creating opportunities for female athletes across the Arab world.
The tournament will be organised under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, lovingly known as the Mother of the Nation. She is the Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. She has always supported women and played an important role in empowering them in every field, including sports.

The event will also follow the guidance of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the Chairwoman of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, and the Al Ain Ladies Club. Her vision and leadership have made the academy a home for women athletes, where talents are trained, polished, and celebrated.
A Grand Sporting Celebration
The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) has announced that this year’s volleyball cup will be bigger and more competitive than ever before. It will take place at the academy’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi and promises to be a grand celebration of women’s sports in the UAE and beyond.
This event is being organised in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the UAE Volleyball Federation. Several important organisations have also joined hands as success partners, including Abu Dhabi Media Network, Abu Dhabi Sports Channels, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, SEHA, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Masafi, and Minimalist. Their support will ensure that the tournament runs smoothly and reaches a wide audience.
Teams Participating in 2025
The 2025 edition of the tournament is set to welcome six strong and distinguished teams from across the Middle East and North Africa region. These teams not only bring sports talent but also represent cultural diversity and unity. The participating teams are:
Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Team (UAE) – The pride of the host nation, representing UAE’s commitment to women’s sports.
Salwa Al-Sabah (Kuwait) – A strong team known for its skill and spirit.
AlUla Sports Club (Saudi Arabia) – A team carrying the rich sporting tradition of Saudi Arabia.
Ankawa Academy (Iraq) – Bringing talent and energy from Iraq.
Wadi Finan (Jordan) – A team with a strong presence in women’s volleyball in Jordan.
6th of October Team (Egypt) – A team from Egypt known for determination and excellence.
Together, these six teams will compete fiercely, showcasing both sportsmanship and friendship. Fans will get to enjoy exciting matches filled with energy, strategy, and teamwork.
Tournament Schedule and Format
The championship will run for five days, from 11 to 15 September 2025. Every evening, matches will be played between 5 pm and 9 pm, giving fans a chance to enjoy the games after school or work.
The format of the competition includes:
Preliminary Rounds – All teams will compete against each other in group matches.
Semi-Finals – The top four teams from the group stage will qualify for the semi-finals.
Grand Final – The two winning teams from the semi-finals will face each other to lift the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2025.
This structure will keep the tournament exciting and competitive till the very last match.
A Platform for Women’s Empowerment
The tournament is much more than just a sporting event. It is part of the academy’s bigger mission to promote women’s participation in sports, not only in the UAE but also across the Arab world.
