Sara Mohamed Falaknaz, representing the UAE Parliamentary Division, participated in a key session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union during its 152nd Assembly held in Istanbul.
The meeting of the Committee on Middle East Questions focused on the latest regional developments, including rising tensions and their impact on security and stability. Discussions also covered ongoing humanitarian and political challenges, along with international efforts to prevent further escalation.
During her address, Falaknaz strongly condemned attacks targeting the UAE, Gulf nations, and Jordan, stating that such actions cannot be justified under any circumstances. She reaffirmed the UAE’s firm position that its territory, airspace, and waters will not be used to launch hostile operations against any country.
Highlighting recent concerns, she noted that the UAE has faced attacks allegedly carried out by Iran, targeting civilian areas and critical infrastructure such as airports and essential services. She described these actions as clear violations of international law and principles of peaceful coexistence.
Falaknaz emphasized that attacks on civilians and infrastructure represent a dangerous escalation that threatens overall regional security. She reiterated the UAE’s commitment to supporting both international and regional initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
She further stressed that political dialogue and diplomatic solutions remain the most effective ways to resolve conflicts. Additionally, she highlighted the growing importance of parliamentary institutions in promoting peace, cooperation, and constructive dialogue.
In conclusion, Falaknaz called on the global community to intensify efforts to protect civilians and secure vital trade routes and supply chains, which are essential for regional and global stability.
