Canada Unveils Level 1 Cyber Security Certification Program

The Canadian government has launched a new cyber security certification initiative aimed at bolstering the nation's defence supply chains and safeguarding pertinent information. The announcement was made by Joël Lightbound, Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement, during an event in Gatineau.

The first stage of the Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification (CPCSC), known as Level 1, will be mandated for select defence contracts beginning in the summer of 2026.
