Portugal Embraces Virtual Production with EMAV LED Studio

Lisbon, Portugal – EMAV, a leading Portuguese technical production company and part of Media Capital Group, has officially launched a state-of-the-art Virtual Production (VP XR) studio, marking a significant milestone for Portugal’s film, television, and advertising sectors. The new facility leverages Alfalite’s advanced LED technology, positioning Portugal at the forefront of the Iberian virtual production landscape.

The innovative studio features a 25x5-meter Alfalite Modularpix Pro 1.9 ORIM VP XR LED wall and an 8x5-meter Modularpix Pro 3.9 HB VP XR LED ceiling. Integrated with Pixotope’s real-time graphics engine and TrackMen camera tracking systems, this setup allows for the creation of hyper-realistic virtual environments suitable for films, TV series, commercials, music videos, and live events.

“The Alfalite panels exceeded all expectations. Their color accuracy, uniformity, and flexible brightness and contrast allowed us to work with a variety of lighting setups without sacrificing quality,” said Jorge Faria, Advisor to General Management at EMAV. “Thanks to the efficient installation by Alfalite and VANTeC’s expertise in system configuration, our first production achieved results in a fraction of the time it would have taken outdoors.”

Faria also emphasized the reliability and quality of the studio ecosystem: “The consistency of the LED panels and rendering engines impressed both our Director of Photography and Director. This tool allows us to save time and maintain full creative control over every scene shot virtually.”
