Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic action drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has managed to sustain its box office momentum through its first three days, showing only a marginal decline after the Diwali holiday. Day-wise box office breakdown

The film opened on a strong note, collecting ₹9 crore net in India on its first day (Tuesday, Diwali). On its second day, it recorded a 14% dip, bringing in ₹7.75 crore. By Thursday, its third day, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat added ₹6 crore, pushing its three-day total to ₹22.75 crore net.

The decline on Thursday stood at just over 22%, indicating a relatively stable trend for a mid-budget release following a festive debut.

Comparison with Thamma

Released alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has demonstrated a steadier hold through the weekdays. While Thamma enjoyed a larger release, its collections dipped nearly 33% on day three, compared to Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’s 22% drop.

Over the first three days, Thamma saw a nearly 50% decline from opening to day three, whereas Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat limited its decline to 33%, signaling stronger word-of-mouth traction.

Weekend outlook

The upcoming weekend will be crucial for the film’s overall performance. If Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat manages to cross the ₹50 crore net mark by Sunday, it will be considered a commercial success, especially given its modest ₹25 crore budget. Positive audience reception in smaller towns and Tier-2 cities could further boost its box office prospects.
