Dubai Land Department launches ‘Digital Sale’ service

Dubai: In a major step toward a paperless future, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has unveiled the first phase of its ‘Digital Sale’ service through the Dubai Now app during GITEX Global 2025. The new service allows property buyers and sellers to complete their transactions entirely online — anytime, anywhere — without visiting a service centre.

The initiative marks a milestone in Dubai’s digital transformation journey and supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai Real Estate Strategy 2033. It aims to make real estate transactions faster, more reliable, and more secure while enhancing transparency across the sector.

With the launch of the Digital Sale service, DLD has reimagined the traditional property registration process. Using electronic signatures through the UAE Pass, both buyers and sellers can complete the entire sale procedure remotely. Once the seller creates and signs the digital sale contract, it is sent to the buyer for completion. After the buyer transfers the payment to a dedicated DLD account, the ownership certificate is issued instantly via the app.

The service represents a major leap toward a 100% digital real estate ecosystem, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in smart governance and innovation. It simplifies what was once a lengthy and manual process into a secure, end-to-end digital experience available 24/7.

According to DLD, the Digital Sale service is available for properties located in freehold areas, including residential units, commercial units, and residential townhouses. Both parties must have a valid Emirates ID, an active UAE Pass for verified digital signatures, and a UAE bank account. The property should also be free from any mortgage and owned by a single individual.

The Dubai Now app, which already connects users to more than 350 services from 50 government and private entities, continues to play a central role in the city’s digital life. Available on both iOS and Android platforms, the app consolidates essential city services into one secure and accessible platform.

At GITEX Global 2025, DLD also showcased its Real Estate Instant Registration Platform — an advanced dashboard that displays real-time data of property transactions across Dubai’s districts. The tool aims to enhance transparency, provide investors with live market insights, and further strengthen trust in the emirate’s thriving property sector.

The Digital Sale initiative comes at a time when Dubai’s real estate market continues to deliver record-breaking performance. By enabling property transactions to be completed remotely with full security and verification, the service not only supports sustainable growth but also aligns with Dubai’s vision of a smart, innovation-driven digital economy.
