The Organising Committee of Dubai Games 2025, the biggest community sporting event in the city, announced the winners of the thrilling Battle of the Juniors competition. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council, this event celebrated the athletic talents of young players aged 10 to 13.

Organized in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council and supported by key partners such as DP World, DAMAC, and Emarat, the event showcased competitive spirit, teamwork, and determination.
Top Performers at Battle of the Juniors
The competition saw Gravity x Backyard Ninjas crowned champions after delivering an impressive performance that earned them 97.79 points. Following closely, Block20 x Empire secured second place with 94.71 points, while Rashid Bin Humaid Boys School – Cycle 2 clinched third place with 83.42 points. The contest remained fierce until the very last moments, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.
Fostering Young Talents
Marwan bin Essa, Director of Dubai Games, praised the event, saying:
"The Battle of the Juniors is a great platform for discovering and nurturing young talent while teaching children important values like sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance. These competitions help kids build confidence and develop both physically and mentally."
He emphasized how sports can shape young athletes by giving them opportunities to challenge themselves and grow.
Record-breaking Participation
The sixth edition of the Dubai Games featured a special day dedicated to the Battle of the Juniors, where more than 390 young athletes from 56 teams participated. The enthusiasm and determination displayed by these young players highlighted the bright future of sports in Dubai.
A crowd of over 6,000 spectators cheered on the participants, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere. Special workshops on physical training and proper nutrition were also conducted to help young athletes understand how to improve their sports performance.
Strong Partner Support
The ongoing success of the Dubai Games has been made possible through the support of both public and private sector partners. This year, the event welcomed DP World as the official partner, with DAMAC Group and Emarat as diamond sponsors. Gold sponsors included Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), First Abu Dhabi Bank, and M42. Additional supporters included C4 as the bronze sponsor, Dubai Festival City as the official venue partner, and Al Futtaim Automotive as a supporting partner. Media coverage was provided by Dubai Media Incorporated and Arabian Radio Network. Other notable sponsors included Adidas, Viya, and Mai Dubai.
Looking Ahead
Dubai Games 2025 is set to welcome 246 teams competing across several categories, including:
Battle of the Government – Men: 84 teams
Battle of the Government – Women: 28 teams
Battle of the Community: 28 teams
Battle of the Cities: 50 teams
The main championship will run from February 20 to 23 at Dubai Festival City, with a prize pool exceeding AED 3.1 million.
As it continues to grow, the Dubai Games stands as a shining example of Dubai’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship, and ambition among its youth. The competition serves as a source of inspiration, empowering young athletes to dream big and achieve their goals.
