Dubai Launches Civility Committee to Enhance Urban Beauty

Dubai, UAE – Following directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has issued a Resolution establishing the Dubai Civility Committee. The move aims to enhance Dubai’s urban aesthetics and strengthen its global image.

The Committee is chaired by His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi. Key members include the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Urban Planning (Vice Chairman), the Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Director General of the Crown Prince’s Office, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and the Director General of Dubai Municipality.

Tasked with supporting the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, the Committee will enhance the city’s visual environment by identifying unsightly elements, proposing solutions, and coordinating with relevant authorities. It will also develop strategies to address emerging urban challenges, set policies to encourage positive practices, and monitor progress through performance indicators and public satisfaction metrics.

The Committee will leverage advanced technologies, including AI, to detect negative trends early and ensure efficient implementation of plans. Subcommittees and working groups will be formed as needed, and all government entities responsible for urban development must cooperate by providing data, reports, and studies.

The establishment of the Dubai Civility Committee reflects the leadership’s ongoing commitment to preserving the city’s unique architectural identity and positioning Dubai as a model of beauty, harmony, and modern urban living.
