Dubai International Chamber Opens First Nordic Office in Stockholm

Dubai International Chamber, a key arm of Dubai Chambers, has officially opened its first representative office in the Nordic region, located in Stockholm, marking a significant milestone in Dubai’s global outreach strategy. The new office aims to strengthen ties between the UAE and Sweden, promoting trade, investment, and collaboration between businesses in both regions.

The inauguration ceremony brought together senior officials including H.E. Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade; H.E. Ghasaq Shaheen, UAE Ambassador to Sweden; and Mr. Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers. Their presence highlighted the growing importance of bilateral business relations between the two countries.

This strategic move is part of the broader ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, which focuses on establishing international representative offices to attract foreign investments and support Dubai-based businesses in expanding globally. Trade data underscores the importance of this development. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Sweden reached AED 3.9 billion, reflecting an annual growth rate of 5.3%. Swedish companies have shown increasing interest in Dubai, with 940 Swedish businesses registered with Dubai Chambers by mid-2025, including 127 new members in the first half of the year alone. This trend highlights both the potential and momentum of commercial engagement between the two regions.

The Stockholm office is expected to provide comprehensive support to Swedish businesses exploring investment and partnership opportunities in Dubai.
