Below is a detailed look at the vitamins that can become harmful when consumed in excess.
Vitamin A helps maintain healthy skin, eyesight, and immunity. But this vitamin is stored in the liver, and when taken in large amounts over time, it can build up and cause toxicity.
Possible warning signs of too much Vitamin A include:
• Strong headaches
• Feeling dizzy
• Liver problems
• Dry or peeling skin
• Pain in bones and joints
• Nausea or vomiting
Children and pregnant women need to be especially careful. High Vitamin A during pregnancy can affect the growing baby and cause health issues.
Vitamin D is known as the “sunshine vitamin” because the body produces it when exposed to sunlight. It supports bone health and boosts immunity. Today, many people take Vitamin D supplements on their own, thinking it will keep them healthy.
But taking too much Vitamin D can cause the body to absorb more calcium than needed. This raises calcium levels in the blood, which can be dangerous.
Signs of Vitamin D overdose include:

• Vomiting
• Stomach discomfort
• Frequent urination

For these groups, taking vitamins without guidance can be risky.
Doctors advise the following steps to avoid vitamin overload:

• Take only the dosage prescribed by a doctor
• Avoid taking multiple products that contain the same vitamin
• Focus on eating natural, whole foods
• Read labels carefully
• Do not take supplements just because they are trending
A balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, nuts, and lean meats is usually enough to meet daily vitamin needs.
Vitamins are essential for good health, but taking too much can be dangerous. Vitamins A, D, E, B6, and even C can cause serious problems if used without proper guidance.
