Daimler Truck Q3 Profit Falls 40%, Europe Shows Strength

Daimler Truck reported a sharp 40% drop in third-quarter operating profit on Friday, signaling ongoing challenges in North America, even as European markets show signs of recovery.

The company posted adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of 716 million euros ($835 million), slightly below analysts’ expectations of 729 million euros. Orders for the quarter remained steady at 93,923 units, supported by a rebound in North America from a weak second quarter and positive demand trends in Europe.

The North American segment, Trucks North America, saw operating profit plunge 64% to 257 million euros. While this exceeded analyst expectations of 240 million euros, it reflects the lingering impact of weaker freight activity and import tariff-related market uncertainty.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks, another key division, recorded an adjusted EBIT of 319 million euros, falling short of the 329 million euros projected by analysts. The company noted that European markets remain resilient, partially offsetting the pressure from North American demand.

Despite the mixed results, Daimler Truck maintained its full-year forecasts, highlighting optimism that stable order levels and regional recoveries will help meet annual targets.
