DAE Expands Portfolio with New Aircraft Acquisitions & Transactions

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd (“DAE”) has announced the recent signing of a substantial acquisition agreement to add 10 narrow-body, next-generation aircraft to its expanding portfolio. This purchase, valued at approximately $0.5 billion, aligns with DAE’s strategy to incorporate more fuel-efficient, modern assets, reinforcing its position in the global leasing market. The aircraft included in this transaction are under lease to four distinct airline operators across four countries, demonstrating DAE’s commitment to a diversified customer base and long-term leasing opportunities.

In a separate development, DAE has actively facilitated and managed the transfer of equity interests in 36 aircraft from existing stakeholders to new institutional investors. This strategic movement is conducted through DAE’s Aircraft Investor Services (AIS) division, which has become an industry leader in managing aviation assets for global investors. The AIS team currently oversees more than 100 aircraft under a range of investment strategies, ensuring effective asset management and providing high-value opportunities for institutional partners looking to invest in aviation.

Chief Executive Officer of DAE, Firoz Tarapore, expressed enthusiasm about the recent developments, stating, “We are delighted to continue adding further fuel-efficient, next-generation technology assets to our portfolio. These young aircraft with long remaining lease terms will enhance our portfolio metrics upon delivery. Moreover, we look forward to welcoming a new airline customer and strengthening our existing relationships with three others.”

The capabilities of DAE’s AIS team have solidified the company’s reputation as a trusted partner in the aircraft leasing market. Tarapore noted that the AIS team’s expertise has attracted a growing number of investors eager to enter the aviation sector, drawn by DAE’s experience and its commitment to managing a diverse, performance-driven portfolio of assets.

The closing for all 10 newly acquired aircraft is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024, marking another significant milestone in DAE’s ongoing expansion and its dedication to supporting airline customers worldwide.
