Swiss Air is in trouble after a video of a couple doing a private act on one of their flights was shared online. The event happened in November on Flight 181, which was flying from Bangkok to Zurich. The video has caused many people to be upset, and the airline is now investigating what happened.
The video was recorded using security cameras that are controlled by the pilots in the cockpit. These cameras are meant to keep the cockpit safe, not to watch passengers. The video shows the couple in the first-class galley of the plane. After the video was shared on social media, people started making jokes and comments about it, which the airline said is disrespectful.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) said, “A couple on Swiss Air’s flight from Bangkok to Zurich joined the mile-high club in the first-class galley, and the pilots secretly recorded them. The crew then shared the video in group chats, and now it has gone viral.” The post also included a picture from the video.

Swiss Air has said that recording passengers without their permission is wrong and goes against their rules. The airline has started looking into the matter and promised to find out who shared the video. Meike Fuhlrott, a spokesperson for Swiss Air, said, “Recording people without their permission and sharing the video is not allowed. It also breaks data protection laws.”
Fuhlrott also said that the crew should have stopped the couple from doing this instead of recording them. She added, “Our crew members are trained to act professionally. We trust their skills and good judgment.”
The airline said both the video and the jokes on social media were disrespectful to passengers. Fuhlrott explained, “We are working hard to understand what happened and how this video was shared. The trust of our passengers and treating them with respect are very important to us.”
The cameras used on planes were added after the 9/11 attacks to make flights safer. They are meant to stop people from breaking into the cockpit, not to spy on passengers. Swiss Air said it is taking this matter seriously and will make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.
This event has made people talk about privacy on airplanes. Many are waiting to see what Swiss Air will do to fix this problem and prevent such incidents in the future.
