The 2024 Flag Garden showcases an impressive 11,600 flags, meticulously arranged to create aerial portraits of both leaders, reflecting their monumental contributions to the UAE's development over the past five decades. This edition of the Flag Garden is the largest ever organized by Brand Dubai, spanning 75 meters in length and 104 meters in height, creating a visually striking tribute.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, expressed that this year’s Flag Garden honors two pivotal figures in the UAE's history. She stated, “The Garden embraces the central theme of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, which is to celebrate the memories of our Founding Fathers. These visionary leaders established the foundations of the Union, paving the way for the progress and prosperity that characterize our nation today.”
Al Suwaidi emphasized that the unique design and symbolic representation of the Garden resonate deeply with the loyalty and sense of belonging that Emiratis feel toward their leadership, who have significantly transformed the UAE into a global leader. She described the Flag Garden as a representation of the unity of the Emirati people and a symbol of national pride during significant celebrations.
Mahra Alyouha, Project Manager of Flag Garden, noted that over the past decade, the event has evolved into a landmark attraction, drawing thousands of visitors annually. This year, the Flag Garden aligns with important national celebrations, including UAE Flag Day on November 3 and Eid Al Etihad on December 2. The Garden will be open to the public until January 10, 2025, inviting citizens, residents, and tourists to partake in the festivities.
In the previous year, the Flag Garden recognized Dubai's leadership for their instrumental roles in advancing the city across various sectors. It featured portraits of prominent leaders including His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and other key figures in Dubai’s governance.
The #ZayedAndRashid campaign, launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to celebrate significant national events in the UAE. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with government, semi-government, and private sector entities and coincides with the UAE Flag Day and the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations. The campaign highlights a vibrant array of festivities across the emirate from November 3 to December 2.
Visitors are encouraged to share their experiences at the Flag Garden on social media using the hashtag #UAEFlagGarden, fostering a sense of community and pride during this celebratory period.
