Bryan Johnson, a well-known name in the health and tech world, has surprised many by ending his $2 million-per-year anti-aging routine. Johnson became famous for trying to reverse aging and improve his body to perform like a young person. However, he decided to stop this expensive routine in July 2025 due to business challenges.
Bryan Johnson became rich after selling his company, Braintree, to PayPal for $800 million. Later, he started a new health project called “Blueprint”. In this project, he worked with over 30 doctors and followed a very strict health plan to make his body younger. He took many medical tests daily, ate a very controlled diet, and used new technology to track how his organs were aging.
Johnson claimed that his organs were working like those of a much younger person. Many people followed his story and saw him as someone who was pushing the limits of health and science.
In July 2025, Johnson said he would no longer continue the full Blueprint routine. He explained that it was too expensive, stressful, and time-consuming. His business, Kernel, which focuses on brain technology, was also facing money problems and delays. Because of these challenges, Johnson said he needed to shift his focus back to his company and personal life.
He also shared that following such a strict health plan every day was not practical anymore and was affecting other parts of his life.
Johnson’s decision to step back from his health plan has made people think about how hard it is to follow extreme anti-aging routines. While the idea of staying young forever sounds exciting, it can be costly and difficult to manage.
Some experts believe Johnson’s choice is smart and realistic. Others worry it may slow down interest and investment in new health and longevity research.
Even though Johnson is stopping his expensive routine, he still wants to help people live longer and healthier lives. He now plans to focus on health tools that normal people can use—without spending millions or hiring a team of doctors.
He also wants to share some of the results from his Blueprint routine so others can learn from his experience. This could help researchers, startups, and anyone interested in improving their health.
People have mixed feelings about his decision. Some are sad to see the end of such a bold journey. Others support him for being honest and open about the struggles. Johnson is not giving up on health science. He just wants to take a more simple and realistic approach going forward.
His story shows that while it’s exciting to dream big, it’s also important to stay grounded and balanced. The end of his $2M-a-year plan could be the beginning of a new chapter in making better health possible for everyone.
