Abu Dhabi is transforming how its citizens access government housing with a new fully digital initiative aimed at giving residents more choice, flexibility, and transparency. The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has launched an “Expression of Interest” service through the Iskan Abu Dhabi application, allowing eligible citizens to explore, compare, and select housing projects that best suit their family needs.
The service covers all current and upcoming housing projects across the Emirate, enabling users to review options based on location, unit size, and estimated completion dates. Beneficiaries receive notifications via SMS and the app, ensuring they have ample time to consider their choices before submitting their preferences.
Initially, the initiative focuses on citizens applying for housing purchase loans, deferred repayment loans, or housing grants. Eligible applicants can explore both government and public-private partnership projects. Additionally, those with approved residential land grants but without infrastructure can convert their benefit into a ready housing purchase or grant service, giving them access to fully developed housing options.

ADHA is currently developing approximately 28,000 residential units across 15 projects. In the first phase, citizens can express interest and later select their preferred units on the project maps. This approach ensures families are aware of their future home’s location, design, and expected delivery, helping them plan ahead effectively.
The service will first be available for residents in Al Ain, with Abu Dhabi city and Al Dhafra regions following soon. Priority will be given based on application seniority, social conditions, family size, and current housing status. Future phases will expand access to citizens with approved construction loans and land plots.
This digital initiative underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to modernising public services, enhancing transparency, and providing citizens with greater autonomy in housing selection, all while reducing waiting times and streamlining the allocation process.
