This race is the second round of the club’s traditional sailing program for this season. The main goal is to keep the UAE’s maritime history and traditions alive and share them with the new generation.
Registration is now open, and interested participants can sign up through the club’s official website. The organizers have updated the rules and guidelines based on feedback from previous events to make the process easier for everyone.
Prizes will be given to the winners and top finishers of the race. The race's starting point and distance will depend on the weather. The dhows will race toward the finish line near the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, shared his thanks for the support from the UAE’s leaders. He also praised the role of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, saying this support is important for the participants and the audience.
Sheikh Mohammed said: "The 60ft dhow sailing races are the most famous category. They bring the most skilled sailors and captains to the competition. These races remind us of the struggles and journeys of the sailors from our past."
The Abu Al Abyad Race is an important part of the sailing season in the UAE. It brings together many competitors and showcases teamwork, tradition, and maritime skills.
