Two Types of Vehicle Numbers in Abu Dhabi

   • They include single-digit, double-digit, triple-digit, and quadruple-digit numbers.

   • Some five-digit numbers are also classified as distinguished, based on specific rules.

2. Non-Distinguished Numbers:

   • These are regular numbers that do not have any special distinction.

   • They are issued like standard vehicle registration numbers.

Who Can Own Distinguished Numbers

The new decision allows any citizen or resident of the UAE to own one or more distinguished vehicle plate numbers. Once a person owns a number, they receive an official certificate of ownership. This certificate makes it legal to sell or transfer the plate to someone else.

• Plate numbers that have already been issued can be purchased, but the buyer must provide proof of ownership through an official certificate.
