Yang shared his thoughts about his past experiences. "Two years ago, I played with the best players my age at the FIBA U19 Men's Basketball World Cup. That helped me feel more confident and made me want to get better," he said. He also mentioned that last year, he went to the NBA Summer League with the Chinese national team, which gave him a great chance to learn.
Right now, Yang is playing in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) playoffs. He helped his team, the Qingdao Eagles, reach the quarterfinals, even though they lost in a close match to the top-ranked Zhejiang Lions.
Yang said, "I feel it's time for me to get better and learn more at a higher level. I am thankful to my team and fans for all their support." Yang is 2.18 meters tall and is known for his skills on the court.
Earlier this year, Yang signed with a famous sports agency called Klutch Sports Group. This agency helps big NBA stars like LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Yang said, "Klutch Sports is sending coaches to China to help me get better at basketball and teach me new things. They also have plans to train me in the United States."
During the 2024-2025 CBA regular season, Yang played very well. He scored an average of 16.6 points, got 10.5 rebounds, made 3 assists, and took 1 steal per game. He also led the league with 2.6 blocks per game. Because of his great performances, Yang was chosen for the CBA All-Star starting lineup and named to the All-CBA Chinese Player First Team.
Yang also played for China’s national team in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in February 2024. In his first game, he scored 13 points and made 4 assists in just 19 minutes of play. This helped China win against Mongolia with a score of 80-49.
Yang Hansen is now ready to take the next step in his career, and many basketball fans are excited to see what he will do next.
